HCMC welcomes US House of Representatives Delegation

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council Chairwoman Pham Phuong Thao presents souvenir to US House of Representatives Chairman Dennies Hastert.

A delegation of the US House of Representatives, led by Chairman Dennis Hastert, pays a courtesy visit to Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council Chairwoman Pham Phuong Thao on April 13, during their working visit to Viet Nam.

Ms. Thao highly appreciates the delegation’s goodwill visit, which she says would contribute to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Also, she confirms that Viet Nam’s trade links with the US are developing well.

Currently, the US is one of the leading trading partners of Viet Nam with great investments from many groups, among which is Intel Corporation,

On the same day, Vice-Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan also received the US House of Representatives delegation. The two sides discussed many issues including the globalization, Viet Nam's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), intellectual property rights and education.
