The National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting reported up to July 24, at least 27 people died, 26 others were injured and 7 are missing due to floods in the northern region.

The center warned severe flooding on a large scale continues hitting the region on July 25. Heavy rains will spread out to the northern mountainous region starting July 25 to 26 including Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Lai Chau. The rainfall will be from 50 to 10mm per day.

From July 27, heavy rains will move toward the northern Delta area and the central province of Thanh Hoa and it is forecast to last until early August.

Due to the impact of a tropical zone accompanied by the southwest monsoon, the north part of the East Sea including Truong Sa Archipelago and the coastal areas of Binh Thuan to Ca Mau will experience strong winds at level 6, high waves at 3m, rough sea.

The central highlands region is warned to have flash floods, landslides due to torrential rains.
