HIV/AIDS writing contest launched

Vietnam’s Journalists Association and the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control have launched a competition called “Press prize on HIV/AIDS”.

This is the second competition of its kind. Each contestant must submit a media report including articles, interviews, investigative articles, reviews, or commentaries written by them and published between January 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. No entry from any previous contest can be used.

The content of articles must mention HIV/AIDS prevention duties in the country, anti-discrimination against infected persons and praise HIV sufferers who overcame the dangerous illness to become useful members of society.

Entries must arrive at Vietnam’s Journalists Association at 59 Ly Thai To Street, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi no later than September 30, 2010.

The organizers announced they would give awards for individual and collective entries. For individuals, there are three top prizes of VND5 million cash each, and there are 27 other prizes as well.
