Ho Chi Minh City Trading Center to Be Built in Moscow

Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has been the first Russian high-ranking official to visit Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces in Viet Nam in the past nine years.

The Russian delegates express their wish to strengthen cooperation with southern provinces in Viet Nam including Ho Chi Minh City .

Trade cooperation, especially the project for a US$10 million Moscow-based trading center by Ho Chi Minh City, was the main agenda item in talks between Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Hai and  Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov.

"Russia wants to boost trade with HCMC and nearby provinces in the South of Viet Nam", said the Russian Consul General Nicolay Dmitrievich Ubushiev in a press conference.

The mayor of St.Petersburg led a delegation to the sister-city of Ho Chi Minh City in December, 2005. Leaders of the two cities, St.Petersburg and Ho Chi Minh City, agreed that there will soon be a St.Petersburg’s Day in Ho Chi Minh City  and vice versa.

Information about the trip to Ho Chi Minh City led by the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov on February 17 and the relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Russia’s regions were released by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City in a press conference on February 28.
