Japanese Coast Guard ship pays official visit to Da Nang

On July 24th, KOJIMA training ship of Japan Coast Guard Academy arrived at Tien Sa port, starting the official friendship visit to Da Nang city.

Representatives of the Coast Guard Command, Da Nang People's Committee, Military Region 5 Command, Border Guard Command and relevant functional agencies welcomed the ship staff at Tien Sa port.

KOJIMA ship is 115m long, 14m wide and weighs 3000 ton. There are 80 sailors and students on board. The captain of the KOJIMA is Mr. Hironobu Tonoaki.

During this visit, the captain and the crew of the KOJIMA will visit the Da Nang People's Committee, the Coast Guard Command, the Marine Surveillance and Rescue Coordination Center II and exchange experience in law enforcement with the members of Coast Guard Command 2.

Vietnam Coast Guard and the Japanese Coast Guard are active members of the Regional Cooperation Association against Asian Piracy and Armed Robbery (ReCAAP);    Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM).

The captain and sailors of KOJIMA Ship receive flower from Vietnamese counterpart

Over the past few years, the two sides have worked closely to improve the capacity of law enforcement at sea.

The visit of the Japanese Coast Guard patrol boat to Danang continues to affirm the good cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Coast Guard of Japan. The visit is also a great opportunity for the two sides to share their experiences in law enforcement at sea as well as to enhance exchanges, cooperation and mutual understanding.

This is the fifth visit of the Japanese Coast Guard to Da Nang. The visit will last until July 28.
