Colonel Vo Thanh Chin, military commander of the Army Headquarter in the highlands province of Kon Tum led a mission delegation to offer  health care and give free medicine to poor Laotian people in Sanxay District of Attapeu province on the traditional New Year festival of Laos.

The mission delegation has given 300 gifts each worth VND500,000 (US$ 23.7) to disadvantaged households in the district. In addition, the delegation also examined and distributed free medicines to 400 needy patients.

A secretary of a village in Sanxay district thanked the delegation saying that though Kon Tum Province in the highlands Vietnam is still poor, its administrators offer presents to Laotian people on the traditional New Year festival of Laos.

Vietnam and Lao’s sentiment is like sibling of a family, the secretary added.
