Kontum: 70 households moved to safer places

Deputy Chairman of the central highlands province of Kon Tum’s Tu Mo Rong district Vuong Van Muoi said prolonged heavy rains hitting the district for the past days caused landslides at Te Xang and Tu Mo Rong communes.

70 households at the two communes yesterday were moved out of the dangerous areas to safer places, said Mr. Muoi.

Besides, local authority was repairing the national road 40B that has been damaged by landslides due to heavy rains. Today, local people and vehicles can travel along the road.

Mr. Muoi said heavy rains which lasted from August 12 to 16 blocked several roads, of which,  the national road 40B connects between Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province and Tu Mo Rong district, Kon Tum province.
