Senior lieutenant-colonel Tran Duc Phuc, head of the border post at Cau Treo international border gate in Ha Tinh, said that long lasting heavy rain unleased 80-100 cubic meters of soil, stone and trees from the mountain to fall down the highway in Son Kim commune, Huong Son district. The landslide spot is about 3 kilometers from Cau Treo border gate.

The border post at Cau Treo border gate has worked with authorized agencies and local authorities to clear the landslide debris, set up traffic warning signs and inform residents and drivers of the incident.

Rainy and foggy weather has raised difficulties for repair of the consequences of the landslide.
