Lao Prime Minister visits Vietnam

At the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong led his high-ranking delegation from the Lao People's Democratic Republic to visit Vietnam starting July 13 to 18.

The delegation yesterday arrived in Da Nang city, starting six day visit to Vietnam. Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen, leaders of Da Nang city, Vietnamese ambassador to Laos and leaders of ministries and departments welcomed the Lao delegation.

Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee Tran Tho was on behalf of city leaders to announce about the city's social- economic development, poverty- alleviation movements as well as cooperation between Da Nang city and neighbor provinces in the country.

The Lao PM congratulated the city's achievements and hoped the city will promote further experience exchange and cooperation with Laos in order to develop stronger comprehensive cooperation and friendship in the upcoming times.

The Lao PM will visit and work at the central provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Dien Bien and Son La before arriving in Hanoi to meet with leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State and Government from July 17 to 18.
