A program to provide law understanding to prisoners was launched in July 16 by the Vietnam Youth's Union in Ho Chi Minh City in partnership with police forces and Law Consultation center of the Law University in the city.
The program called “ Journey of trust” aims to provide knowledge of regulation, living and employability skills to improve their chances of successful community integration to more than 100 prisoners in Chi Hoa Prison in HCMC.
Talks of family law, property dispute, and privacy rights will aslo be delivered to them during program.
After launching, staffs from the vocational training and job introduction center of the Communist Youth Union in HCMC guided prisons topics about how to seek a job, how to make an impressive application form and introduce as many as hundreds of jobs for offenders to choose.
Employment guidance and watching movies of those who started over with a clean slate after getting out of the jail, criminals expressed their regret and determination to live better and usefully for family and the society.
This program had ever been launched in Bo La Prison in the southern province of Binh Duong. Captain Nguyen Nhat Cuong, deputy head of Detention Ward said that the program proved its effective; accordingly it will be implemented widely in more prisons.
