Lawmakers meet to discuss economy

The National Assembly Standing Committee convened in Hanoi for its 41th session today to discuss the country's current socio-economic situation.

In day one, committee members have debated the 2009 State budget.

Tomorrow, they will discuss the Government's report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and this year's State budget.

The agenda will include the NA's draft program on law and ordinance building in 2012 and proposals for the establishment of the Ha Noi Military Procuracy.

In addition, members plan to approve the ordinance on the management and use of weapons, explosives and support tools.
