Leaders greet former Party Secretary Do Muoi on 95th birthday

Senior Party, State, National Assembly leaders and officials from ministries, agencies and committees called on former Party General Secretary Do Muoi on his 95th birthday on February 2.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu and Nong Duc Manh, Hanoi Party   Secretary Pham Quang Nghi, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam, wished former Party General Secretary Do Muoi good health and longevity as well as continued contribution to the Party's construction and development of the country.

All the leaders and officials affirmed they would strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges to meet socio-economic development targets set for 2012 and the following years.

Chairman Hung promised that the National Assembly would actively work towards mobilizing NA delegates and voters nationwide, and effectively carry out its supervisory tasks.

On February 1, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung had also visited former Party General Secretary Do Muoi at his house.

Comrade Trong expressed his joy at seeing former Party General Secretary Do Muoi in good health and hoped he would continue to provide ideas and advice to Party officials.

Comrade Trong reported on the status of tasks set for 2011 to former Party General Secretary Do Muoi, saying that the current leadership will inherit and further develop the valuable traditions of the CPV and successfully achieve socio-economic targets set for 2012 by implementing the resolutions passed at the fourth plenum of the Party Central Committee.

Comrade Do Muoi expressed his thanks to the leaders for their good wishes and said he believed that the Party, army and the people would successfully implement the 11th National Party Congress Resolution to turn Vietnam into an industrialised country by 2020.
