Let’s Fly with Jetstar Pacific

The opening ceremony for Jetstar Pacific in Viet Nam was held in Ha Noi. Qantas Group Chief Executive Geoff Dixon undertook to make Jetstar Pacific one of the lowest cost and strongest airline brands in Asia.

Pacific Airlines was officially renamed Jetstar Pacific Airlines Joint Stock Aviation Company on Wednesday. In the evening, thousands of people accessed its Web page to buy tickets.

According to figures from alexa.com and Jetstar Pacific Information Technology Department, there were 27,000 page views by 2 p.m. A total of more than 6,000 tickets were sold at VND15,000 (US$1) each.

Mr. Tran Binh Trong at Hamlet 3, Hung Khanh commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province said that he bought a VND15,000 ticket within 10 minutes. He did not know how get to online so he had to ask his grandchild for help. This is the first time he will travel by airplane. His family farms and his income is three tons of rice. He could never have an opportunity to buy airplane ticket at the normal price.

“This is the biggest launch with a large number of cheap tickets in a long time,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, deputy general director Jetstar Pacific. More people can buy for low fares than before. This is the reason why many try to access the Web site.

Jetstar Pacific signed a contract with Australia provider Telstra to provide more high speed Internet access. It will boost the Internet connection for the Web page. Jetstar Pacific plans to get a host machine in Viet Nam to avoid access problems in the future.

Jetstar Pacific is the first carrier to offer online ticket booking. It has four Boeings 737.
 

Jetstar Pacific Chief Executive Luong Hoai Nam is committed to offering the lowest fares in Viet Nam. The airline will enable customers to travel easily and will expand to serve more people.

Jetstar Pacific will apply the successful Jetstar brand and business model, namely JetSaver Light which gives customers who have no checked-in baggage fares discounted by VND230,000 (US$14) off the standard fare for a domestic flight.
