Lunar New Year holiday 2019 to last for 9 days

The 2019 Lunar New Year holiday will fall on February 4-8, which means it will span nine days including the two weekends, according to a newly approved proposal.

The proposal was made by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs and approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The ministry also submitted timetables for the Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays.

The New Year holiday will be on December 31, 2018, and January 1, 2019. As such, workers will have to compensate their working hours of December 31 on January 5.

The holidays of the Reunification Day and May Day will be between April 29 and May 1. Workers have to compensate their working hours of April 29 on May 4.
