A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck the northern province of Son La at 7:14 p.m. local time on July 19, the Vietnam Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center confirmed.
The quake's was centered at 21.605 degrees latitude north and 103.985 degrees longitude east. The temblor was considered relatively shallow with a depth of 8.5 km in Muong La District of Son La Province.
At that time, residents living in high buildings in Hanoi felt the aftershock of the earthquake. A man working in the seventh floor of a skyscraper said that he saw the shake of his computer and the building. Similarly, residents in the 10th floor of an apartment building in Ha Dong District said the shake occurred in 3-4 seconds.
No injuries were reported from Muong La District as the quake cracked the wall of some houses in the district.
