Many activities mark national day

The Ho Chi Minh City’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese on September 1 organized the ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day. Addressing the ceremony, deputy chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said that the city always appreciate highly the contributions of Overseas Vietnamese to national construction and defence.

On this occasion, Mr. Phan Tham, former chairman of the National Committee for Overseas Vietnamese received the labor medal, second class; professor Dang Luong Mo, advisor to the Vietnam National University-HCMC – an Oversea Vietnamese – who has many achivements in training and building, developing the semi-conductor industry in the city, were granted the labor medal, third class. Professor Dr Vo Van Toi, Head of the microbiology faculty at the Vietnam National University offered the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit.

On the same day, authorities of districts 3, 12, Tan Phu and Go Vap organized to offer certificates to 160 party members.
