Ministry inspects heavily polluted places

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has instructed the Vietnam Environment Administration to investigate some heavily polluted places in Hanoi, Thanh Hoa and Quang Ngai provinces.

Heavy pollution has been reported at Ngoc Khanh Lake in Hanoi, where water has scum with foul smelling. Buoi River has seen fish die and yellow and smelly water in Thanh Hoa. Water source has been polluted in Binh Son district, Quang Ngai.

In addition, the ministry has proposed people’s committees of provinces along the coastline and large rivers to draw up a list of production establishments with major discharge source.
