Ministry sets up team for building of banned business field list

The Ministry of Plannning and Investment has signed a decision to set up an interdisciplinary team of officials and experts who will examine and build up a list of banned and conditional business fields.

The team will include 49 members and be led by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Cung, head of the Central Institute for Economic Management, will be permanent deputy head.

Besides, there are economic experts and officials from other ministries, the National Assembly (NA)Office, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

After being set up, the list of banned and conditional business lines will be reported to the Government and the National Assembly in the process of revising investment and enterprise laws.

At the meeting on August 18, the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to examine and complete a draft list of banned and conditional business fields to submit the NA Standing Committee in its next session.

The ministry proposed to reduce the number of banned business lines from 51 to eight and 56 out of 386 conditional business fields will be removed.
