More than 2.2 mil people to receive vision care

Standard Chartered Vietnam in corporation with the Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health and the Department of Student have announced a project to take care eyes for children and elderly people in the Mekong delta.

Two projects named “Light for children and elderly people in the Mekong delta” and Taking care of students’ eyes officially announced.

As per the projects, 2.2 million people will receive vision care. Deputy Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine Dr. Truong Dinh Bac said that more students are currently getting eye diseases

The number of students suffering from short-sightedness is increasing in Vietnam. Up to 15 percent of students in Vietnam suffer from refraction errors with 3 million students wearing glasses.

The projects are expected to help Vietnamese kids and elderly people to be taken care of so as to improve their living quality.
