More vigilance on HCMC-Trung Luong highway

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has been apprehensive of the many serious road accidents occurring on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway and has ordered the Ministry of Transport to check the status of all the road signs along the highway.

Hai ordered the management to change the road signs where necessary with better and more visible ones, particularly in sections most vulnerable and prone to accidents.

He also asked the Ministry of Security to enhance patrolling along the highway and check vehicles that are no longer road worthy.  The patrol officers must also help ease traffic congestion as soon as possible after an accident occurs.

Since the HCMC – Trung Luong highway reopened to traffic after repairs, there have been more than 6,675 traffic accidents here claiming 18 lives and injuring many.
