Namibia recognizes Vietnam’s full market economy

President Truong Tan Sang held a meeting with Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on November 19 to announce Namibia’s recognition of Vietnam’s full market economy on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam.

President Truong Tan Sang welcomed the Namibian President, his wife and members of the Namibian delegation to Vietnam. The President also affirmed that Vietnam wanted to expand cooperation with African countries, including Namibia.

Namibia President Hifikepunye Pohamba expressed his pleasure to be in Vietnam and on the occasion he made an official announcement of his country’s recognition of Vietnam’s full market economy.

At the meeting, the two sides hoped that Vietnam and Namibia will promote cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, education, health and tourism.

After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing ceremony for cooperation between the two countries in the field of diplomacy and agriculture.

On the same day, Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba also met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
