National Assembly Convenes Again

The National Assembly convened again on Tuesday with three laws adopted, namely the Law on Sending Workers Abroad, the Law on Gender Equality and Amendments and Supplements to some articles of the Labor Code.

The National Assembly session takes place on Nov 21 in Ha Noi

The Law on Sending Workers Abroad consists of 8 chapters and 80 articles stipulating activities of sending workers abroad under contract.

It also regulates the rights and obligations of guest workers under contract, the rights and obligations of enterprises and organizations sending workers abroad under contract and related individuals.

The Law on Gender Equality includes 6 chapters and 50 articles relating to gender equality-related principles in various areas of social life.

It also provides measures to ensure gender equality, which are applicable to State agencies, professional-social-political organizations, economic organizations, people’s army units, Vietnamese families and citizens, international organizations operating in Viet Nam and foreigners residing legally in Viet Nam.

NA deputies also voted for the adoption of some articles in the Law on Amendments and Supplements to some articles of the Labor Code.

Later in the morning, President of the National Assembly (NA) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thoongsing Thammavong attended the Viet Nam’s NA session as part of his four-day visit to Viet Nam.
