National Assembly Enters Last Session

The National Assembly's (NA) eleventh session officially opened today at the Ba Dinh Hall in Ha Noi and will last for 14 days.

The 11th NA's last session opens on March 20 in Ha Noi

After an opening speech by NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung delivered a government report on the socio-economic situation, the state budget in 2006 and new tasks for 2007.

Top national leaders, including  President Nguyen Minh Triet, NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung respectively reported on their work during the 2002-2007 term, followed by the President of the Supreme People’s Court and the Head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

Earlier, the NA convened a preparatory conference to approve the agenda for the 11th session. NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized the importance of this term’s last session and urged NA deputies to actively contribute their opinions in order for the meetings to be a success.
