Saigon Factory Outlet Mall, financed by the Dai Phuc Company and headed by a Canadian Vietnamese, occupies a 30,000-square-meter area bordering Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province.
The US$30-million center contains some 200 shops for selling a variety of items like clothing, home décor and food, and delivering service-oriented business. There is also a food court and a theatre for stage shows and film screenings.
Producers can sell their goods directly to the public and advertise their wares at the mall, which should prove popular with Vietnamese and foreigners alike.
Saigon Factory Outlet Mall is the first shopping center in Viet Nam to sell direct from the producer or distributor to the public, thus avoiding the retailer’s mark-up. The spacious shops are separated by walls and have wide frontages.
