Lieutenant General Doan Van So, Commander of Navy Command of Region 5 appreciated Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper’s information on the fight for country’s Sea and Islands sovereignty protection as well as its raising fund for taking care of soldiers’ and fishermen’s families.
Navy Command of Region 5 had a meeting with Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper’s reporters and editors on their visit in the area of southwestern island sea on October 1.
The visit aimed to SGGP's editors and reporters to understand more about navy soldiers’ work and life.
On this occasion, SGGP offered gifts and scholarships for navy soldiers’ children. The scholarship fund has been raised by the newspaper entitled “Joining hand for Sea and Islands”.
At the meeting, Rear Admiral -Lieutenant General Doan Van So, Commander of Navy Region 5 said that soldiers have overcome many difficulties in their work and life to conduct excellently Vietnam’s sea and islands sovereignty protection mission.
Political Commissar of the Navy Command of Region 5, Colonel Doan Van Chieu said that the newspaper’s attention to soldiers was an inspiration, great encouragement for staffs and soldiers overcome all difficulties to complete excellently their sacred duty.
On the same day, Construction Corporation No. 1 under the Ministry of Construction funded VND 400 million for ‘Joining hand for Sea and Islands’ program.
