New highway deteriorates just after opening

The National Highway 91B, which connects Can Tho City with neighboring provinces, including Kien Giang and An Giang, was seriously damaged just a month after opening to traffic.

After relatively little rain, several potholes appeared on the road’s surface, creating a hazard to travelers.

According to residents in the area, there are two big dangerous potholes around 500 meters from Rach Sat Bridge. There were three consecutive accidents between 3:30 pm and 6 pm on June 19, injuring four people.

The VND455-billion National Highway 91B, with a total length of 15.793 kilometers, was built to reduce vehicle flow along National Highway 91. It opened to traffic on June 6.
