Nguyen Van Huong Scholarship Contributes To Community HealthCare

Sai Gon Giai Phong(SGGP) newspaper held the seventh Nguyen Van Huong scholarship-granting ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh Opera House in the evening of March 28,2006.

Delegates were moved on hearing scholarship recipients’ stories. Deputy-Editors-in-Chief of SGGP newspaper Nguyen Thi To emphasized that giving attention to health staff in remote areas and helping needy medical students to continue their study has made contribution to better community healthcare.

Eight years have passed since the fund’s establishment, the scholarship has provided financial assistance to nearly 300 needy students and more than 50 doctors in remote areas.

The 7th scholarship-granting ceremony gave 30 scholarships worth VND3 million each to students of Ho Chi MInh Medical School and Ho Chi Minh University Training Center for Health Care Professional.

There were 29 companies and individuals which have contributed VND237 million for the scholarship scheme. Among them, Shinpoong Daewoo company gave VND66, 000,000 and presents worth VND10, 000,000 at the ceremony.
