A meeting on measures to ensure a stable power supply during the 10th National Party Congress, Liberation Day, May Day Celebrations and the APEC Summit was held by the Power Transmission No.4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry, the Electricity of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Ho Chi Minh City’s Police on April 13, 2006.
The Power Transmission No.4 is in full control of transmitting power (66kV – 500kV) from the central province of Ninh Thuan to the most southern province of Ca Mau.
If any problems occur on the power lines, blackout may happen throughout the country.
Cooperating with local authorities, the Power Transmission No.4 has put details plans including tightening security, preparation of equipments and action groups for any problems.
All on going work on electrical grid will temporarily be put on hold in Ho Chi Minh City from April 15 to May 2, 2006 to make sure non-stop power availability for the period and during the APEC summit.
