Officials Appropriating State-owned Houses to Be Investigated

6 Ly Thai To Street, Ha Noi

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung has instructed the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Finance and the Ha Noi People's Committee to investigate the case of some officials being said to appropriate state-owned properties.

They include Le Duc Thuy, governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam, Hoang Van Nghien, former chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee, and Phan Van Vuong, former vice chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee.

Later, with the Prime Minister’s approval, Le Duc Thuy has returned the house (6 Ly Tai To Street, Ha Noi) to the State Bank.

Though owning an apartment and a house, the governor had still asked for a public house worth tens of billion VND in central Ha Noi
