Ninety-two other workers have been evacuated from Libya to Tunisia by land and they are waiting at the Djerba and Tunis airports to fly home. They are scheduled to arrive in Vietnam on August 16-18.

The last Vietnamese guest workers at fighting zones in strife-torn Libya have moved out of dangerous areas, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh said on August 14, citing sources from the Vietnamese Embassies in Libya, Egypt, and Turkey.

The Department for Overseas Labour Management’s statistics showed around 1,750 Vietnamese workers were employed in Libya by the end of July.
