Over VND 2 billion donated to Ly Son Island's fishermen

Delegation of the Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City General Confederation of Labor led by Chairman Dang Ngoc Tung, Deputy Standing Secretary of Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Vo Van Thuong visited, encouraged and gifted residents, fishermen in Ly Son Island of Quang Ngai province  on July 12.

The delegation offered a fishing monitoring equipment worth at VND 300 million to fisheries unions at An Hai Commune and supported VND 400 million to three fishermen, whose vessels were attacked by China’s ship.

In addition, the delegation handed over 200 gifts to fishermen’s children at Ly Son Island.

On this occasion, leaders praised fishermen for their brave actions in protecting Paracel’s sovereignty like Nguyen Chi, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Phung Trung Thanh . Each fisherman was given VND 20 million.

On the same day, Tung visited and supported VND 50 million to two ship’s owners Vo Van Luu and Vo Van Tu at Binh Chau Commune in Binh Son district.

Mr Vo Van Thuong also handed over VND two billion to fishermen’s children and Quang Ngai fisheries unions, ship's owners, as result of their vessels were heavily damaged in Ly Son and Binh Son Island.

Besides, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and Vietnam Rubber Industry Group donated VND 110 million to fisheries unions at An Hai and An Vinh commune in Ly Son district.
