A grant of VND50 million has been handed over to victims’ relatives of typhoon Chanchu on May 23. The donation is made by Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper’s readers only two days after the charity foundation.
On the same day, Lotus Transport Joint-Stock Company sent VND10 million to the survivors and unlucky families in the region.
The Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City Securities Company (HSC) jointly organized a collection for typhoon victims, welcoming generous contributions from shareholders and clients. The collection box is placed at the HSC headquarter.
Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha, on the same day, campaigned for donation to help natural disaster victims in response to an appeal for assistance to typhoon-related people by Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
Up to VND30 million of donation has been made by the sympathizers including dignitaries, monks and the clergy at the launching ceremony.
Superior Buddhist Monk Thich Thien Tanh said that representatives of the Buddhist Sangha in 24 provinces will take up a charity event for people in the typhoon-related regions.
