Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong meets French Ambassador

French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary visited and paid a courtesy greeting to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday evening.

At the meeting with the ambassador, the Party chief said that Vietnam and France have had long-standing historical and cultural ties, good traditional friendship relations and great potentialities in order to expand and strengthen multifaceted cooperation. 

Additionally, Vietnam appreciates highly the role of France in Europe, Asia and the world, and desired to further enhance the friendship and cooperation ties with the country in the upcoming time.  

2018 is a special year marking the 45th establishment anniversary of the Vietnam- France diplomatic relationship and the fifth establishment anniversary of the partnership ties so both sides need to strengthen mutual exchange and cooperation to raise the bilateral relations 

Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong wished Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary to excellently finish his tasks in development of the Vietnam- France partnership ties in the coming time.
