Party Chief Requires Better Diplomatic Activities

Viet Nam’s Party leader has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be more flexible and creative in its diplomatic activities as the country is fully integrating to the international community.

Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh was speaking at the 25th conference of the diplomatic sector starting on Saturday in Ha Noi to discuss the improvement of the efficiency of diplomatic activities. The conference will last until December 1.

Mr. Manh asked the ministry to make more efforts in carrying out its diplomatic tasks and keep improving their staff. The ministry needs to catch opportunities actively and forecast risks in time, he said.

The diplomatic sector is required to make more efforts to support Viet Nam’s development.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem said that Viet Nam’s diplomatic relations have never been so expanded. The diplomatic sector is required to perform better in the future to help promote peace and contribute to the universal drive for peace, national independence, and social democracy and advance, he added.

Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, chairman of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, said diplomatic activities should cover business, investment, trade and culture, and diplomats act as a bridge linking Viet Nam with other nations.
