Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a high-ranking delegation from the Cuban National Assembly led by Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez in Hanoi yesterday.

At the meeting with the Vietnam Communist Party Chief, the Cuban leader introduced some activities and development of the Cuban National Assembly in recent years; thanked for solidarity and assistance of the Party, State, National Assembly and people of Vietnam; and determined to strengthen and deepen further the special relationship between the two countries. 

Party Chief Trong believed that the visit contributes to enhance the traditional friendly, solidarity and comprehensive cooperative relations between the two sides. 

In the context of complicated regional and global developments, the two nations need to tighten the traditional friendship, desired the Party Chief. 

The Vietnamese leader hoped that Cuba would overcome challenges and achieve outstanding results in the revolutionary career under a leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba and Cuban President Raúl Castro. 

State and people of Vietnam treasure the good relationship, and always ready for experience share and socio- economic development cooperation with Cuba, strongly affirmed Mr. Trong.
