Party Chief Wraps up Visit to China

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee Nong Duc Manh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation arrived in Ha Noi on August 26, concluding the official visit to China.

General Secretary Manh, who began his visit to China on August 22, sent a message to Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese president, other Chinese Party and State top officials and people while on board a special plane.

The message expressed confidence that thanks to the two sides' wish and determination, the common viewpoints and agreements reached between leaders of the two Parties and States will be actively and effectively implemented, bringing the traditional friendly cooperation between Viet Nam and China to a new height.

General Secretary Manh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation visited Guilin and Nanning in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on August 25-26.

General Secretary Manh affirmed that Viet Nam-China ties in general, and Viet Nam-Guangxi relations in particular, are precious assets which need to be preserved, looked after and passed to next generations by the two Parties, States and people.

He said Guangxi and Vietnamese localities share a great cooperation potential and the two sides need to further boost this mutual-benefit cooperation.

In Nanning, the general secretary visited a modern agriculture exhibition centre and the China Southern Power Grid Corporation Ltd. The Corporation is currently carrying out a number of contracts to sell electricity to Viet Nam's northern border provinces and deploying cooperation projects with Viet Nam in the energy field, including an investment plan in a 2,000MW power plant in Nghi Son, Thanh Hoa province.
