Party Leader Requests Army's Efforts to Implement Tasks

General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, on Dec. 5, urged the entire army to make great efforts to successfully implement defense and military tasks set for the year 2007.

Mr Manh, who is also Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Military Commission (CPV CMC) made the statement at the 2006 Politico-military Conference, which was held by the CPV CMC and the Ministry of Defense.

It is necessary to reform thinking, introduce practical policies and inherit traditions to make the all-people's national defense policies and guidelines an unbeatable power, which will enable the country to prevent and defeat all types of wars, even hi-tech wars, General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said.

The Party leader also gave instructions on military and defense tasks, including building the all-people's national defense and security as set by the 10th National Party Congress.

Senior Lieutenant-General Phung Quang Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the CPV CMC and Minister of Defense chaired the conference.
