Fishing is considered to be the key industry of the district with 123 teams of fishing boats, one fishery trade union, 40 cooperatives and 87 high speed vessels purchasing seafood at sea.

One hundred percent of households in the island are now supplied with electricity. Clean water under national standards has been provided to 80 percent households and nearly 90 percent of traffic network have been concreted or tarmacked.

Chairman of the district People’s Committee Ta Minh Nhut said that local authorities would maintain and improve new rural standards in communes.
