Phuc Trach grapefruit yields bumper crop, good prices

Thousands of households have harvested a bumper crop of Phuc Trach grapefruit with good prices in Huong Khe district, the north central province of Ha Tinh, the district’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported.

Farmers sell about 20,000-35,000 grapefruits a day at VND60,000-100,000 each, weighing 1-1.5 kilograms.

Huong Khe district has over 1,500 hectares of Phuc Trach pomelo trees, of these 1,000 hectares have been harvested with an output of 45 tons a hectare.

The number of households growing the fruit has been increasing in all 22 communes of the district. Many of them earns hundreds of millions of dong a crop.

Phuc Trach pomelo is the main crop tree to develop economy and improve local farmers’ income.
