Policemen in Da Nang to patrol on bicycle

Police station in the central city of Da Nang yesterday received 100 bicycles given by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, better known as BIDV.

100 bicycles worth VND280 million (US$12,524) are used for patrolling streets to keep security order. A bicycle is equipped with a document case and water bottle. The bicycles will be given to police officers in districts to do their duty.

Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh, deputy chief of Da Nang city Police, the city has asked police officers to drive bicycles for patrolling to create a good image of friendly policemen to residents and travelers.

The amount of bicycles which BIDV gave to Da Nang Police is a part of the bank’s program to support police forces in 19 cities and provinces. The bank plans to give 2,200 bicycles worth over VND6 billion (US$ 270,880).
