President Nguyen Minh Triet talks to disabled people and orphans in Ha Noi on April 16.

President Nguyen Minh Triet on Monday highly praised disabled people and orphans for overcoming hardships in their lives at a meeting to mark Viet Nam’s Day for the Disabled.

The President reiterated that the government and the people have always cared for disabled people and orphans with the hope of helping them integrate into the community.

He said many disabled people and orphans across the country have become role models for others to follow.

He called on Party committees, organizations and philanthropists inside and outside the country to help disadvantaged people, particularly war victims and those living in remote areas.

The President also expressed his belief that disabled people and orphans can overcome their inferiority complexes and strive for a better life.
