President Truong Tan Sang hosted a reception for Yoichi Kobayashi, Chairman of the Japan-Mekong Business Co-operation Committee, in Ha Noi yesterday.
Kobayashi, who is leading a business delegation from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed the president about the outcomes of their working sessions with Vietnamese ministries and localities, and stressed Japanese companies' keen interest in the country.
Japanese businesses were satisfied with investment policies in Viet Nam as well as the completion of industrial parks, airports and seaports in Ha Noi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, he said, adding that during this visit, a number of Japanese firms decided to invest in Viet Nam.
The delegation also put forward proposals to help Viet Nam improve its legal framework and develop infrastructure, support industries and human resources.
President Sang said Viet Nam's legal framework on business had improved and the Law on Investment, once approved by the National Assembly, would further facilitate foreign investment.
He emphasised that relevant agencies would work closely with their Japanese counterparts to solve existing problems, while calling for more investment from Japan to foster the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
