Program brings joyful mid-autumn festival to kids in Ben Tre Province

With the hope to make kids from low-income families in the Mekong delta province of Ben Tre, a program was launched yesterday for 500 students in Tan Phu Tay Commune in Mo Cay Bac District.

The program was jointly held by the Department of Information and Communications in Ho Chi Minh City, Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, the Department of Tourism and contributions of the city's General Library and some medical workers.
In the morning, the organizers provided free medical examination and drug distribution to 200 kids in the historic monument while in the afternoon, 500 poor kids in the commune took part in the Mid-autumn festival in Tan Phu Tay Primary School.
Each was given cakes , lantern, dairy products, confectioneries and books. Five needy students who have gained good achievement in studying received special gifts from the organizer.
Additionally, children watched musical performance, magic trick shows, and partook in games.
