Quang Nam marks its 20th re-establishment anniversary

The central province of Quang Nam yesterday held a meeting for its 20th anniversary re-establishment and received the Independence Order First Class.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded achievements gained by the province government and the Party while attending the meeting .

The province has achieved  rapid socio-economic development over two past decades with GDP of VND20 trillion ($878 million), much higher than the country’s average level, PM Phuc said. The province has collected nearly VND21 trillion for the state budget, ranking 10 over 63 cities and provinces in the country, he added.

The province proved it is one of best places with good investment environment. In the war time, the province showed its tradition of patriotism.

Additionally, Mr. Phuc proposed the Party and the government in Quang Nam should focus on developing value chains with other provinces expecting that within 20 next year, the province will become one of the richest province of the Central, the Highlands region and in the country.

PM Phuc awarded the province with the Independence Order First Class for its great contribution to national development over past decades.

Attending the event were PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Former President Truong Tan Sang and former party leaders of the province.
