The central province of Quang Nam plans to spend VND473 billion (US$22 million) on building and repairing houses of families whose relatives served in the revolutionary movement to free the country.
Dinh Van Thu, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, said the province has approved allocation of VND473 billion(US$22 million) for building of new houses and repairing 17,651 houses of families whose relatives served in the nation’s revolution.
This year, 2,805 new houses will be built and 4,951 houses will be upgraded at a total cost of VND211 billion ($10 million).
Thu said that from now till the end of the year, the plan to build houses for top welfare bracket groups will be implemented.
The list of families and cost of building will be publicized in the commune’s people’s committee headquarters.
Any commune not following regulations will see its Chairmen accountable to the Provincial People’s Committee.
