Railway company bans staff from using personal mobile phones at work

General director of Vietnam Railway Corporation (VRC) Vu Ta Tung has asked all of train drivers, railway guards not to use mobile phones during working as one of the activities in a campaign to ensure railway traffic safety from now until August 31.

Accordingly, leaders and the staffs of affiliated units must be responsible for the violation of regulations and receive punishments for the mismanagement that leads to serious accidents.
The VRC has also launched a regulation to ban its employees, including train drivers, railway barrier guards and those in similar positions from using personal mobile phones and tablets while at work.
The campaign aims to strengthen the safety of the railways in the wake of a series of recent train accidents.
