Red Cross sends relief materials to central, northern provinces

The Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross yesterday dispatched by train 25 tons of rice to the four flood-hit central provinces of Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, and Quang Nam and the northern province of Hai Duong.

It also sent food, clothes, and blankets to the four central provinces.

The total value of the relief material is VND350 million (US$20,000).

Storm Noul, which hit central Vietnam last week, killed 22 people and caused estimated damages of VND143 billion (US$8.4 million).
