School asks parents to bring water for child’s daily usage

Parents of children studying in Sa Binh nursery school in Sa Binh Commune of Sa Thay District in the central highland province of Kon Tum  have to carry ten litres of water to school for their child’s usage every morning, as the school has no regular water supply.

Sa Binh nursery school moved to its new facility at the beginning of 2012.  The school was built at a total cost of VND1.5 billion (US$71,000), and is quite spacious with six class rooms, water reservoirs, bathrooms and restrooms.

However, there is no regular daily supply of water because the school ran out of funds before a well could be dug.

This has compelled school authorities to request all parents to bring with them a 10 litre can of water every morning when they bring their child to school.
