Sea Turtles in Son Tra Peninsula to be Protected

A guardian group was established to protect sea turtles in the Son Tra Peninsula in the central city of Da Nang by the Wildlife at Risk (WAR), a non-profit conservation organization, and Da Nang Aquaculture Bureau.
The group of five farmers will be on periodical patrol three or four times per month to explore places where turtles might lay eggs to protect them. The patrol team will also raise the awareness of residents in turtle protection, searched poached turtles and released them back to the sea after tagging them with a tiny metal plate.
