Most of the cases relate to dumping of wastewater and exhaust fumes, five to tens of times beyond permissible limits and to illegal handling of toxic wastes.

Notwithstanding, polluters continue to flaunt environmental regulations, refuse paying penalties and repair any damage caused by their actions.

HCMC has several companies who are disregarding environmental regulations and causing heavy pollution to residential areas surrounding Le Minh Xuan Industrial Zone in Binh Chanh District, Tau Hu and Tham Luong Canals in District 12, Binh My and Tan Thanh Dong Communes in Cu Chi District.
